Poppy, a eurasian collared dove, was born in captivity in December 1993 and will celebrate his 30th birthday in December 2023.
When Poppy was born, the veterinarian believed he was a female and indicated that on the receipt as such. Poppy was sold to my aunt and I eventually took Poppy into my home to care for him. Here is Poppy at his current age and the original bill of sale. He is still in excellent health, has a very old raspy "voice" and loves to eat!
